Symbionic newsletter - Love at first sight!
Edition: October 2022 - Launch plans, Titan heroes assemble & more...
I’m Rishi, Co-founder & CEO of Symbionic. Since 2019, we've been doing a lot of cutting edge r&d work in the field of bionics and neural interfacing. We wanted to let you in on it.
I’m excited to share this edition of our Newsletter - love at first sight.
Imagine spending countless days and nights building and perfecting a product. All founders have to overcome this trial when they start. What would be the best gift that they can get in return? A user looking at your product, and saying its love at first sight might be at the top of that list.
This year has been unreal. So much excitement and learnings. We built 25 engineering prototypes from 2019. Each iteration brought us closer to our dream.
Now, we are ready to deploy our first set of trial units and test its mettle in the real world. With that said, we also recruited 10 individuals with missing upper limbs to be a part of the first Titan heroes cohort.
Follow our journey as we move into design for manufacturing, build an overall sturdy system, and pilot the Titan arm.
These are stories worth sharing.

The Titan arm is an anthropomorphic, robotic arm designed to help a person with missing limb regain functional Independence. The device is controlled via revolutionary sensor system - that detects muscle signals from the residual muscles at the stump and makes sense out of them.
This year alone, The Titan arm has evolved by leap & bound. We were able to improve not just the aesthetics, but also the overall grip strength, speed & reliability exponentially.
The Titan arm is designed as a fully integrated unit. We not only built the hand mechanisms, but also the wrist unit, the forearm, the elbow, user interface, a mobile app & a ridiculously great sensor technology & the control system electronics.
The Titan arm is now ready to be deployed for trials. We are assembling 10 units to work with our first cohort of users & gather feedback for future improvements in the device.
We invited our first user cohort to join us for a meet & greet at the Garden cafe, Chennai.
Some of the feedback we received from the users absolutely floored us.
The Inclusion Fellowship is an initiative to support entrepreneurs in their innovation journey. Every year, TIF selects 5 Fellows as part of the program. The Fellows are exposed to an immersive experience in which they build networks and connect with thought leaders in the Inclusion space.
This year I was selected on behalf of Symbionic. The fellowship experience was wonderful. The Summit is an event organised every year - to create awareness towards the solutions in the inclusion sector.
We are glad to announce that Symbionic will Introduce The Titan arm at the Inclusion Summit on November 12th in Bangalore.
Thank you so much for reading this far. Currently, we are in the search for Upper limb amputees who would like to be a part of our next cohort of Titan heroes. If you or anyone you know have come across any individual without upper limb, do connect them with us at +91-9791112093 or rishi@symbionic.co
To Individuals or organisations that are interested to join our mission to enable a million lives, we are in the market to raise funds to help propel our product launch and scale it to thousands of lives. If this is something that you find exciting, please feel free to reach out at rishi@symbionic.co and we will share the round details.
Kudos brother!!
