Hey - welcome to the "Build In Public" version of the monthly investor update for our startup, Symbionic. Every month, I'm going to send this public list the (almost identical) update we send our stakeholders. Occasionally, we may need to redact sensitive information, but we'll try and share as much as possible.
This was the update we sent our stakeholders earlier today:
In the update that follows, I've shared some of our recent breakthroughs, upcoming initiatives, and a few insights from behind the scenes. I'm thrilled to give you a closer look into what's been shaping up at Symbionic and what's on the horizon. Dive in, and as always, your feedback and thoughts are invaluable.
Warm regards,
Rishi Krishna

Don't Build What Customers Want
Last quarter was an eye-opener. Instead of just giving our customers what they ask for, we try to dig a bit deeper.
We aim to understand the challenges they might not be putting into words. So, rather than just providing a basic solution, we thought, "Why not redefine the whole experience?"
And that's precisely what we're trying to do. We've rolled out some promising designs that address common issues like discomfort, sweating, and signal interference.
We're in the middle of testing these with real users, and the feedback has been genuinely encouraging.
Build in Public - Meet Shakthi
Dropping a quick shoutout to Shakthi, our Product Lead. This guy's on fire! Shakthi's been sharing some interesting snippets from his day-to-day work on LinkedIn. It's a fun, unfiltered look into what it's like at Symbionic HQ. If you've got a moment, do Check out his posts. I promise you'll enjoy the insights.
Meet the Titans
This month felt like a movie with Paulami's visit. If you're on Instagram and love being inspired, chances are you've come across her posts.
Now, Paulami's journey with prosthetics has been, let’s say, a mixed bag. She's using a cosmetic hand, but deep down, she’s always yearned for more functionality.
So, when she heard our story, she thought, "Why not?" and hopped on over to our Chennai base. Our two days with her were absolute gold. Apart from fitting sessions, there were candid chats, laughs, and Paulami, being the open book she is, shared some previous experiences—some not so pleasant. Motivated by her feedback, we’re giving the Titan arm a few tweaks to make it just right for her.
Oh, and did I mention she gave us a lovely shoutout on her Instagram? Made our day! We're all set to get her geared up with the finalized Titan arm soon. Fingers crossed, she’ll find the Titan a perfect fit for her dynamic life. Paulami, here’s to many Insta-worthy moments with the Titan!
